Lampung, January 5, 2025 – The Center for Islamic History Studies (Pusat Studi Sejarah Islam Lampung) proudly announces the official launch of its scholarly publication, OOSTHAVEN: Journal of Islamic Historical and Cultural Studies. The journal aims to provide an academic platform for the exploration and discussion of Islamic history, culture, and civilization, with a specific focus on the Lampung region and Southeast Asia.

The launch event was held in Lampung and attended by academics, historians, and cultural experts. Dr. H. Wahyu Iryana, the Executive Director of the Center, emphasized the importance of this journal in filling a crucial gap in the academic study of Islamic heritage, especially within the local context. He noted that OOSTHAVEN seeks to bridge the historical and cultural aspects of Islam with contemporary scholarship.

The editorial team is led by Dr. H. Wahyu Iryana, with M. Bisri Mustofa serving as the Secretary and Aan Budianto, MA, heading the Research and Cooperation Division. Together, they aim to foster interdisciplinary research and facilitate scholarly exchanges through this publication. The journal will feature peer-reviewed articles, research papers, and critical analyses, contributing to the growing field of Islamic historical studies.

The inaugural issue of OOSTHAVEN is set to showcase research that delves into Islamic history and its cultural impact across the Lampung region, as well as its global connections. It is expected to be a valuable resource for scholars, students, and anyone interested in the dynamic relationship between Islam and cultural development.
